🧩 The Halloween Card & The 340 Cipher
I still believe 100% that the code couples directly with the Phillips 66 Map. The breakthrough key was right in front of us the whole time:
📐 The 'V' Symbol Clue: Look closely at the symbol on the Halloween card. It hiddenly depicts a Square and Compass—the ultimate geometric clue to unlocking the codes.
This symbol wasn't just a signature; it was the exact geometric template used to transpose the Z340 cipher in the correct order.
🛠️ How the Transposition Works:
Years ago, using special software (including a custom tool from the creator of the Z Crypt app), I mapped out the exact movement pattern required to unravel the text.
If you place the Halloween card symbol over the first character of the 340 cipher, it gives you the geometric movement rule:

Zodiac explicitly stated that the map code involved radians.
🛰️ The Grid Key: You find these radians, as well as other precise geographic locations, by using the 340 code/cipher as an exact geometric grid that overlays directly onto the map.
That does not mean other messages or secrets are not hidden in the Zodiac Killer 340 code. In fact, we have found quite a few!

A hidden message can be found in the 340.
Here is a message that we found hidden in the 340. To see how we found this and what the
context of the message may mean, you will have to read sections 1 through 8 and the
murder of Susan Nason.
As always, we begin the animation by proving the scale of each document by aligning them
side by side.
I still believe the 340 holds more secrets.
This technique is called overlaying or masking.
We go into great detail about this in our articles and illustrate it with examples and stories of it being used throughout history and the military.

the police alongside his codes was an official map with a hand-drawn compass rose

This project is a major focus of my research. I have been experimenting with transposing the
famous 340 cipher in direct relation to numbered quadrants. If geometric transposition

We are executing precise geometric transpositions of the 340 cipher using the numbered
quadrants 0, 1, 2, and 3. Our goal is to uncover either a hidden message layered within the
geometry or the exact structural order needed to apply a standard substitution cipher.
To make this massive undertaking possible, we utilize a specialized suite of digital tools:
The Custom Android App Engine: Given to Randall by a developer who used it to
build a 340-solving app. With this program, you can run a transposition, turn that
layout into an image file, and drop it straight into the software. Within minutes, the
program allows you to manipulate and test the code—saving us countless hours of tedious pen-and-paper labor.
The "Peek-a-Boo" Tool: A secondary program where we input our transposed layouts to hunt for repeating visual patterns, alignments, and anomalies.
It takes significant time to map out the most "probable" geometric transpositions and run
them through these systems. As we process them, we are uploading the software and the

🗣️ Zodiac Killer Words, Phrases, and Speech Patterns
The word "pen" has a long historical tradition of being attached to completely
unrelated items simply to describe their physical shape and portability. When a
manufacturer or the public adds "pen" to an object—such as a pen knife (originally a
small knife used to sharpen writing quills), a vape pen, or a pen light—it instantly tells
you the item is slim, lightweight, and engineered to fit discreetly inside a shirt or coat
pocket. In the context of the investigation, analyzing why the Zodiac specifically
utilized or referenced a compact "pen light" ties directly into this mindset of selecting
easily concealed, highly portable everyday tools.

🧩 A Challenge of My Own
Here is a little challenge I posted at the end of Section 8. (And yes, I just realized Section 8
is the military term for someone who is crazy... lol, just a joke!).
I engineered this puzzle specifically to demonstrate how someone goes about constructing a
short, compact brain-teaser like the Zodiac's famous "My Name Is" cipher. This one
should actually be pretty easy—I left at least half a dozen clues, and everything is in the
correct structural order without being mixed up.
However, if I were a serial killer creating a puzzle out of the letters of my own name,
I probably would have scrambled the order. In that sense, the Zodiac's version acts as a kind
of double-encrypted code. You will see exactly what I mean when—and if—you manage to
solve mine.
💡 The Inside Track: Some of you will probably crack this without even trying
to decode it, simply based on the two main hints I gave. So, for all of you who
love puzzles, ciphers, and brain teasers... here you go. Have fun with it!
